Pak Paiman Menjual Dipan Berkeliling

Hari minggu pagi tanggal 20 April kemarin aku mengantarkan istri tercinta belanja ke Pasar Gentan. Pasar tradisional kecil yang berjarak sekitar 300 meter dari rumah kami itu cukup ramai. Mungkin karena letaknya yang memang strategis (dimana-mana yang namanya pasar letaknya strategis dong :D), terletak di pinggir jalan Kaliurang, tepatnya ada di kilometer 10. Sedangkan di sekitar daerah tersebut banyak perumahan dan perkampungan.

Seperti biasanya aku lebih senang menunggu di luar pasar sementara istriku berbelanja. Duduk di pangkalan ojek, aku senang memperhatikan aktifitas orang-orang. Melihat kegigihan orang-orang yang sedang mencari nafkah. Aku selalu kagum dengan kerja keras mereka. Apa yang mereka kerjakan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan keluarga dan terutama anak-anak mereka.

Tapi pagi itu pandanganku terhenti pada seorang bapak tua yang sedang duduk di sebuah dipan (tempat tidur) kayu di pinggir pasar. Dipan kayunya baru, sepertinya bapak tengah menanti seseorang yang mau membeli dipan tersebut. Hatiku tergerak untuk mengajak berbincang dengan bapak itu. Tapi sebelum menghampiri bapak itu, aku sempatkan mengambil gambarnya dengan kameraku, cepret!!

"Dipannya dijual ya pak?" tanyaku dengan bahasa jawa halus. Wajahnya kemudian tampak sumringah sambil mengiyakan pertanyaanku. Wah, jadi nggak enak nih kalo dikira mo membeli dipannya, pikirku. Makanya langsung aja aku ajak bapak itu berkenalan dan minta ijin ngobrol-ngobrol agar beliau tidak salah sangka.

Pak Paiman, begitu nama beliau. Aku sungkan bertanya tentang usianya, tapi kalo dilihat-lihat mungkin usia pak Paiman sudah lebih dari 60 tahun, lihat sendiri deh fotonya. Beliau mempunyai dua orang anak, aku juga tidak menanyakan lebih jauh tentang anaknya. Seiring dengan obrolan yang terus mengalir dan senyum lugu beliau yang mengiringi perkataanya, aku semakin kagum dengan beliau.

Dipan kayu yang dijual berkeliling dengan dipanggul di pundak itu adalah hasil karyanya sendiri. Butuh waktu kurang dari 3 hari untuk membuat satu dipan. Dipan ukuran single yang tengah dibawanya ini dijual dengan harga Rp. 300.000,-. Cukup murah untuk dipan dari bahan kayu jati. Kalo masih tega menawar harganya mungkin bisa lebih murah lagi :).

Mulanya aku pikir beliau tinggal di daerah sekitar itu. tapi ketika pak paiman membertahukan asalnya aku cukup kaget. Subhanalloh, ternyata beliau berasal dari daerah Bantul timur, tepatnya kecamatan Dlingo. Dan dari rumahnya itu pula beliau berjalan kaki memanggul dipannya. Entah sudah berapa puluh kilometer yang dilalui hingga sampai di sini, kelurahan Gentan, kecamatan Ngaglik, Kabupaten Sleman. Hari ini adalah hari kedua sejak keberangkatan pak Paiman dari rumahnya. dan ketika aku tanya kalo malam menginap di mana, dengan tersenyum juga beliau menjawab "seadanya". Untuk yang satu ini mungkin beliau tinggal mencari tempat beratap, karena tempat tidurnya tentu sudah ada :) . Tentunya menjual dipan tidak semudah menjual kacang. Sekali berangkat mungkin bisa beberapa hari beliau memanggul dipannya keliling Yogyakarta dan sekitarnya. Subhanalloh. "Sebulan bisa jual berapa dipan pak?" pertanyaanku cuma dijawab dengan "lumayan hehehehe". Aku senang melihat senyum pak Paiman.

Meskipun hidupnya berat namun selama obrolan Pak Paiman tidak terlalu mengeluh, entah tentang harga-harga kebutuhan yang mahal, atau kondisi negara yang semakin tidak jelas. Beliau cuma heran ada apa dengan cuaca sekarang, "Masih jam 9 pagi kok sudah panas", begitu kira-kira ucapan beliau. Itu sih karena Global Warming pak, jawabku dalam hati.

Masih banyak yang ingin aku tanyakan ke Pak Paiman tapi istriku sudah ngawe-awe, oh dia sudah selesai belanjanya. Aku berpamitan dengan pak Paiman dan segera pulang. Sampai di rumah aku cerita ke istriku tentang pak Paiman. "Kenapa tadi tidak diajak makan? mungkin dia belum makan lho..." begitu kata istriku. Aku bingung harus bilang apa. Aku nggak mau dikira menaruh iba, padahal aku yakin beliau bukan tipe orang yang ingin dikasihani. Beliau orang yang tegar dan pekerja keras.

Buat saya, beliau adalah orang yang terhormat.
